The Edmonton Journal suggests veteran Keith Tkachuk could be involved in the third trade deadline deal of his career.
The Blues forward, who ranks third on the team with 33 points, is an unrestricted free agent in July and believed to be on the want lists of several teams.
Among those mentioned with specific needs: the Boston Bruins, who are looking for a top-six forward, specifically a winger and the Chicago Blackhawks, who are seeking a second-line center. The Columbus Blue Jackets, Edmonton Oilers, Minnesota Wild and Pittsburgh Penguins are mentioned as other teams who would benefit from Tkachuk's talents.
Tkachuk was first moved during the 2001 trade deadline when the Blues shipped him to Phoenix for Michal Handzus, Ladislav Nagy, Jeff Taffe and a first-round pick. In 2007, the Thrashers rented the forward. Atlanta sent Glen Metropolit, a first- and third-round pick in 2007 and a first- and second-round pick in 2008. Tkachuk returned to St. Louis as a free agent in the offseason.
